Surrey County Council and Surrey Heartlands CCG are piloting a healthy heart initiative which will be running from January 2023 until the end of June 2023. Trinity Homecare is supporting the initiative by booking a venue and offering all our local teams in the Surrey area the opportunity to take part in the pilot.
This project will look to increase the number of opportunities for local residents and local workplace settings to have their blood pressure and pulse rhythm checked in a community setting. The Healthy Heart check will detect any early signs of stroke or CVD (Cardiovascular Disease), alongside providing individuals with healthy lifestyle support and advice.
This opportunity is available for any Surrey resident aged 35 years or over that has not already been diagnosed or receives treatment for hypertension, atrial fibrillation, or any other CVD related illness.
Andrew Needham, CEO, praised the initiative saying:
“The wellbeing and health of our care teams and colleagues is very important to us and to be able to support this initiative is tremendous. Many people are unaware that they have high blood pressure or pre-high blood pressure, which can significantly increase their chance of a heart attack or stroke. Our carers dedicate their lives to caring for others it is important that we support them to take time to look after themselves too.”
The Surrey Heartlands Team we will be located in community settings in the Guildford area, so any local residents can easily drop by. If you want to find out where they will be, you can follow the One You Surrey Facebook and Instagram pages.
