As we approach International friendship day on the 30th of July, we want to share with you how we are tackling loneliness by offering companionship with our Arts and Crafts challenge.
Trinity’s Arts and Crafts challenge was set up during the COVID-19 lockdown and will be continuing throughout summer. The aim of the challenge is to get as many Live-in Carers and Service Users involved in creating works of art, in order to improve their mental wellbeing.
Supporting Live-in Carers and Service Users
At Trinity Homecare, we understand how challenging lockdown has been – particularly for more vulnerable people who haven’t been able to get about and do the things they usually would. Not seeing family or friends or doing the little things like visiting the local supermarket can have a huge impact on a person’s mental wellbeing.
Whilst things are slowly going back to some form of normality, the Arts and Crafts Challenge is already having a very positive impact. Art is a fantastic way for people to express themselves and is proven to reduce anxiety and stress. It is also an opportunity for Live-in Carers and Service Users to bond further, during this difficult time.
Supporting our NHS heroes
The challenge aims to support our NHS heroes who are at the forefront of the pandemic. At Trinity Homecare, we have a fantastic working relationship with the NHS and local CCGs and to show our gratitude, we are donating money to NHS Charities Together. Some of the artwork will also be donated to the local GP practices and hospitals to brighten up their working spaces.

Examples of our Carers and Service Users getting creative
Take a look at some of the creative work our Carers and Service Users have completed! Below are pictures of Pamela and her live-in Careworker, Imbi, with their very beautiful hand made bracelets! They plan to put these to auction, donating funds to the NHS.
Pictured below is 89-year-old Pat and her Live-in Carer Joana, knitting a blanket. Pat has always enjoyed knitting but after two strokes, she has found it difficult to get back into the swing of it. With the help of Joana, she is finally back to her creative ways! Perfect for keeping her mind active.
Granddaughter Lucy, Service User Pam, and Care worker Monika are pictured below with stunning pictures they have created during lockdown.
With all the wonderful pieces of art, some of our office staff decided to get involved too! Pictured is Ashlee with her gorgeous painting of a giraffe, Jasmine with a painting of the Joker and Batman and last but certainly not least- Barbara with her incredible throne-like chair for her cat, Hazel.
