The Great British Care Awards 2022 (South East) ceremony took place last Friday at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel.
Team Trinity’s Alison, a finalist for The Home Care Co-ordinator Award, and Karina, a finalist for Home Care Worker Award, celebrated at the awards ceremony alongside care finalists from across the South East. Both are very much deserving their finalists’ nominations.
Alison
Alison, Lead Care Co-ordinator for Trinity Homecare’s visiting care team, shows outstanding commitment in her role and to her team and clients alike. In order to deliver a truly outstanding service, Alison understands the need for continuity of care for her clients. She also makes sure that she is available to support staff with any queries or help as necessary.
She works with clients, colleagues and carers with the utmost empathy, always sending get well soon cards to carers when they are unwell and providing extra support when times are tough. Recently when a carer was feeling unwell during a shift, Alison not only reallocated their visits for the rest of the day, but she also got in her own car to collect them and take them home, ensuring the carer was safe and had the support they needed. She even dropped some flowers and a card off to them on her way.
Karina
Karina, one of our frontline carers at Trinity Homecare, consistently shows compassion and dedication, always putting her client’s needs first even if it means having to make changes to her own personal commitments.
During the last 12 months Karina has shown her commitment to her clients and colleagues when she managed to go above and beyond even when her car broke down. Leaving her car where it broke down, she took a train and walked to the client’s home to ensure they received the care they needed at the time they expected it.
Karina is committed to providing our clients with outstanding car and always goes that extra mile. She reports all issues and concerns to ensure the client has access to other relevant services that will support and benefit them. Sadly, there have been a couple of incidences this year where Karina has had to support clients during emergency situations and raise the alarm with emergency services. Karina has stayed with the client ensuring the client was safe and keeping them comfortable until an ambulance has arrived.
Sadly neither Alison or Karina came home with awards, but we are so very proud of their finalist nominations and to have them as part of our dedicated team.
