Trinity Homecare and the social care sector has faced a number of very significant challenges in recent years. Since 2018 here are some of the issues we have had to address as your chosen care provider:
*Increases to the National Living wage (which increases again on 1st April)
*Escalating auto-enrolment employer pension contribution costs
*The introduction of the apprenticeship level
*Additional regulatory costs from the Care Quality Commission (10x increase)
At the same time, local authority budget constraints continue and the labour market in Surrey, London and the southeast of England remains highly challenging.
Maintaining the highest standards of homecare
Despite these challenges, we have continued to invest in our service and people and we are very proud of the “Outstanding Rating “awarded to Trinity Homecare in 2019 by the Care Quality Commission. Just 3% of homecare providers hold this rating.
We have also invested in our TrinityConnect service, enabling clients and their net of kin (where consent is in place) to have electronic access to their visit records in real-time. This provides transparency and peace of mind.
We are proud to have held our prices since October 2018 throughout this period of escalating costs, during a period in which Brexit and uncertainties on future immigration policies have also impacted recruitment.
Our commitment to recruitment and training of our care staff
We’re committed to continuing our investment into our front-line staff so that our clients receive a consistently high standard of care.
All of our team are provided with the highest standard of training, with a career progression pathway. In addition to our internal training centre, we continue to work in partnership with local colleges to improve standards of training.
Over the past year, we have won multiple awards for this commitment. Most recently in November 2019 we were winners at the Surrey Care Awards for our commitment to the recruitment and training of staff.
The price of homecare
At Trinity Homecare, we want to remain as transparent as possible by keeping our clients informed of the rising cost of care and how it may impact them in the future.
We are mindful that many of our clients are on fixed incomes and we are working hard to control our costs, whilst ensuring our care service remains high quality and value for money.
As of April 2020, there will be further increase in the National Living Wage. We will keep you informed of how we are dealing with this next challenge.
We would like to thank all of our clients and their next of kins for their continued support.
