Domiciliary home care jobs
Domiciliary care is also sometimes called daily care, visiting care and hourly care. This type of home care will provide a Care Assistant who will visit their client in their own home. Whether their client requires a companionship call once a week or personal care multiple times a day, a Domiciliary Care Assistant will drive from client to client and often visit several different clients in a day.

Live-in care jobs
As the name suggests, live-in care is a service where a carer lives in their clients’ home with them to provide full-time care. There are two main types of live-in care and much like domiciliary home care, different care providers will sometimes call their services different names to one another.
As a live-in carer, you can be either employed or self-employed. ‘Self-employed live-in care’ is sometimes referred to as ‘Introductory live-in care’. With introductory live-in home care jobs, you will be self-employed which means your client will pay you directly and you will be responsible for payments, taxes and national insurance etc. If you’re hired for a managed live-in home care job, you will be employed and your employer will be responsible for your pay, taxes, national insurance etc.
Whether you’re employed or self-employed, live-in home care jobs offer more consistency than visiting home care jobs. Every client will have different needs so the type of support will vary from placement to placement and the length of time you’ll be in the placement for depends on your circumstances as well as your client’s needs. Live-in care placements can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months.
